In the case of a gynecological medical condition, we have a range of surgical and non-invasive treatments at hand to get you well soon.
Prior to admitting you to the hospital, we offer extensive consultations regarding the various procedures available and, if possible, also explain alternatives to open surgery or minimally invasive procedures with or without organ preservation.
In the department of gynecology, we offer a range of common and specialized surgical procedures. One special focus is the area of so-called minimally invasive procedures, such as laparoscopies and hysteroscopies, which can often replace open surgery if performed by a well-versed team of specialists.
Our treatment for malignant diseases of the internal genital organs, tumorous growths, as well as pain in the lower abdomen or chest area are state-of-the-art procedures. This includes the implanation of so-called tension-free vaginal tapes (TVT), tapes to treat urinary incontinence, or sentinel-node procedures for the removal of lymph nodes in cancer surgery. Treatment is always according to the medical guidelines. In addition, we also offer cosmetic pelvic floor surgeries depending on the individual situation.

Outpatient Treatment

Thanks to modern technology, more and more therapies can be performed as outpatient procedures. We offer this in our day surgery center, where you will also be cared for by certified nursing staff. The inter-disciplinary organization involves the cooperation of physicians from other specialist departments, thus implementing our holistic concept.
Our Oncological Day Clinic is where chemotherapies and other treatments that require longer qualified monitoring, such as blood transfusions, punch biopsies and antibody treatments, take place.

Competence in Treating Breast Cancer

Our Gynecology Department is a member of the Westpfalz-Nahe Breast Center. According to the 2008 annual report of the “Westdeutsches Brust-Centrum GmbH (WBC)“, the joint performance of the hospitals in Kaiserslautern, Pirmasens, Landstuhl, Idar-Oberstein and Zweibrücken stands for above-average success in diagnosis and therapy in the treatment of carcinomas of the breast.
When it comes to breast reconstruction surgery following removal of a carcinoma, we closely collaborate with the plastic surgeons Hansjürgen Jost and Dr. Ayten Jost, to the overall great benefits of our patients.

We support the work of the Women´s Post-Cancer self-support-group, which holds monthly meetings at our hospital. Patients suffering from cancer also get support from the Deutsche Krebsgesellschaft (German Cancer Association) and the Psycho-Oncological Service of the German Red Cross on site.
